Tokyo, March 26, 2018– From 23rd to 28th of April 2018 the time has come again: SEKISUI SQUASH OPEN will take place for the seventh time at Sportpark Pilatus in the Swiss town Kriens. Professionals and hobby
players are already looking forward to the tournament due to the attractive prize money and, of course, the great sporting challenges. From 23rd to 28th of April top squash players from all over the world will compete in the SEKISUI OPEN 2018 again. For the first time, two events will take place in parallel. The men’s and women’s tournaments will be held simultaneously; both played in the category “PSA Challenger 10”. In total, participants from 19 different nations are expected – including five top 100 male players and ten top 100 female players.
Squash support for Tokyo 2020
The tournament is made possible by the main sponsor SEKISUI CHEMICAL CO. Ltd., which has committed itself to a sponsoring programme for 2012 to 2020. Thereby, SEKISUI makes a significant
contribution to the promotion of squash sport in Europe. As a Japanese company, SEKISUI also supports the tournament due to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
The players can expect high prize moneys
In total, a prize money of $ 20,000 will be given to the players at the tournament, with $ 10,000 to the winners of the men’s and women’s tournaments. Who will make it to the podium, will be played in the
qualifying round on April 23rd and 24th and finally in the games of the main draws from April 25th to 28th. Players from all over the world will do their very best to secure important points for the international
ranking. But not only the professionals are highly motivated: at the tournament weekend, there will be 2 recreational tournaments for amateurs without a license.
