Sekisui Specialty Chemicals (SSC) was awarded 1st place in Sekisui Chemical’s prestigious Kaizen competition this year. Kaizen is a nine step process of continuous improvement that is a high priority for all Sekisui businesses. The Kaizen competition is held annually among regional Sekisui subsidiaries across the world, and the wining team in each region advances to compete in the global competition. This year’s three day regional competition was hosted by the sister company Sekisui Voltek in Coldwater, Michigan this past October. SSC team member Kevin Therault spoke for the whole team when he said, “We enjoyed learning about all the great projects executed by the other groups in the competition. We are honored to represent all Sekisui divisions from the North America region in the global Sekisui Kaizen competition, and we look forward to meeting our international colleagues from around the world!” Although only eight members of SSC led this specific Kaizen project, Sekisui Specialty Chemicals prides itself on continuous improvement of processes in both manufacturing plants and administrative offices.
SSC is also excited to announce that the company’s European manufacturing plant in Tarragona, Spain recently won 3rd place in the European Kaizen competition. Scott Neuheardt, President of Sekisui Specialty Chemicals, is very proud of both teams for bringing home these impressive awards, attributing the company’s success to a culture of customer centric focus, dedication and attention to detail.
